Frequently Asked Questions

When will Bright Endocrinology start accepting patients?

We are currently scheduling non-Medicare patients now. Scheduling for Medicare is coming soon!

If I have already seen Dr. Heather Saran at her old practice, am I still considered a new patient?

For patients seen at her previous practice in the last one year she will be offering her first visit a discounted rate*. You will still be required to fill out all the new patient paperwork and forms.

Does Bright Endocrinology offer telemedicine?

Yes! With direct care, you dictate how you want to be seen; not your insurance. All patients can be seen with a video appointment. You even have the option of a phone call, great for those with a busy lifestyle*. Patients must be physically present in the state of Arizona due to medical board requirements. Currently Dr. Saran only has an Arizona medical license. Those who live outside of Arizona or travel frequently can place a request and Dr. Saran will consider expanding based on demand.

Do I still need insurance?

It is recommended for patients to maintain health insurance coverage for medications, imaging, labs and in case of hospitalization or surgery. Patients also need to continue with routine care from a primary care provider.

Why did Dr. Heather Saran transition to the direct physician care model?

Dr. Heather Saran wants to spend time with you, not documenting and billing. In an insurance model, overhead is greatly increased due to staffing needs to process billing. To survive in an insurance-driven practice , a doctor typically spends 7 min or less actually face to face with the patient. Dr. Saran’s goal is to provide evidence based, individualized, and safe care to each patient, which requires TIME.

Is Bright Endocrinology considered a “concierge” practice?

It’s a matter of semantics. Traditional concierge practices require a fee to access the physician while ALSO billing insurance. This means a patient pays a flat fee AND any insurance-required deductibles and fees related to the services provided. Here at Bright Endocrinology, all pricing is transparent without surprise bills, as the patient pays the doctor directly for services.

*Patients with Medicare are subject to CMS requirements. Bright Endocrinology has a separate tax ID and therefore all patient with Medicare will be billed as a new patient visit for their first visit.
